MY ART MATERIALS

My paintings are produced on archival (long-lasting) canvas or linen panels, and occasionally hardboard. They are semi-gloss varnished, protecting and visually enhancing the work.

FRAMES

All paintings come with frames included in the list-price. Frames cost me $30-$60, so an averaged-out $50 is included in the list-price. I select frames that works with the painting. The frames can be 1-1/2 to 3 inches wide (2 inches is preferred, if workable). Most are dark (black or espresso), with trim or a liner (gold or silver). All frames are standard quality for local galleries and art shows: made of wood and enamels (no plastic). When appropriate to the artwork, a frame may be a plein-air-green-gray or a tarnished silver or gold.

A NOTE ON QUALITY AND APPEARANCE

Images of paintings on this Website are photos uploaded as jpg files. They never achieve the tactile quality of the original artwork, but are very close. The paintings are photographed before varnishing to avoid glare. In good lighting, the varnished painting looks richer and subtler.
